英语中有一类介词短语表义张力强，虽然貌似主动形式，但可以或直接或间接包含被动语意。通常，这类表达中的名词前没有冠词，且该名词一般都具有动作意义。列举如下：
(1)beyond＋名词
1)beyondbelief难以置信
Therumorisbeyondbelief．
这谣言难以置信。
2)beyondcontrol无法控制
Thechildrenwerebeyondcontrol.
这些孩子不听管教。
3)beyondcompare无可比拟
Thebeautyofthesunsetovertheoceanisbeyondcompare.

4)beyondcomparison无法比较
