英文合同引言(recitals)
引言部分是作为合同的一个辅助工具，其使用的目的，是使合同内容能够更加清晰化、更容易理解。引言部分的基本内容通常包括：
a、合同的背景（backgroundofagreement）
b、双方缔约的目的（purposeforenteringintothecontract）
c、合同的主要目标或重要设想（keyassumptionsforthecontract）
引言，通常总是居于合同开始处，当事人条款之后——在中国合同法中，也属于组成合同的“首部”的最后一个段落，通常是以“鉴于（whereas）”开始，到“双方特约定如下（thepartiesagreeasfollow）”结束。任何一个合同的签订，都有特定的目的，如：特定的经济目的或者其他合法的目的。引言，主要就是陈述合同签订的目的，同时也说明必要的合同签订的背景资料和有关信息。必须注意：引言，不是具有强制执行力的合同内容，合同具有法律效力的部分都是在引言的结束语——“双方特约定如下（thepartiesagreeasfollow）”之后开始的。所以，如果在引言中确定了某些具有执行内容的约定，就应当在合同主文中重复出现。因为引言部分没有强制执行的效力，有些合同甚至完全跳过引言直接进入合同主体部分。
鉴于：ABC集团希望能够针对材料的性能进行某些试验。为了进行这些试验，华持需向ABC集团提供材料的样品，华持认为：该材料是其所有的，是绝密的。
责任与义务（obligationsoftheparties）条款
义务条款，是当事人合同义务的根本约定，是合同的核心部分，其主要内容应当包括：
a、双方必须履行的义务范围（whateachsidetoberequiredtodo）：合同当事人主要义务的具体内容。
例：第十二条投保方应当按照约定的期限，交付保险费，如不按期交付保险费，保险方可以分别情况要求其交付保险费及利息或者终止保险合同。Article12.TheInsuredshallpaytheinsurancepremiumwithinthespecifiedtime.Ifhefailstodoso,theInsurermay,dependingonspecificcircumstanceseitherrequiretheInsuredtopaythepremiumduewithinterestorterminatethecontractofinsurance.
c、合同履行的质量标准（qualitystandardsoftheobligations）：产品质量或服务质量。
d、运输条款，谁负责运输安排与谁负担运费（thedeliveryobligationandthetransportationcost）：合同如果是异地履行的，必然涉及运输问题，本条款处理运输责任与费用问题。
e、保险及费用(insurancesanditscost)：保险费的承担，也是常发生的。

价格条款（price）
价格条款，指的是合同的总价值。必须注意的是，在这一条款中，也应当明确本合同涉及的税费种类，除法定必须由特定主体支付的以外，必须明确约定是由哪一方最终承担税费支付责任。
a、标的总额，或产品、服务的总价（thepricefortheproductorservice）

1合同签订后20个工作日内，买方向卖方支付合同总价的10%，计人民币万元（整人民币）作为合同预付款。
