腊八节过完了就是——小年，小年也称为谢灶，祭灶节，灶王节。在农历腊月二十三或二十四。小年被视为过年的开端，是记间祭灶的日子。据说这天，各家的灶王要上天向玉皇大帝报告这家人的善恶，让他赏罚。所以在祭灶是，还要把关东糖用火熔化涂在灶王爷的嘴上，让它不在玉皇大帝面前说坏话，以求来年合家平安。只限于男子。
