1.managesthelifecycleprocessesforelectronicresourcesandservesastheexpertresourceforissuesrelatedtotheseprocesseswithinthedepartmentandthroughoutthelibraries;
2.dutiesincludeworkingwithcollectiondevelopmentinidentifyingelectronicresourcesforconsideration,establishingproducttrialsforevaluation,managinglicenseandcontracttermsrelatedtoelectronicresources,andcollaboratingwithcollectiondevelopmentinthenegotiationofresources;
3.workscloselywithcatalogingandmetadataservicesonelectronicresourceaccessandmanagementissuesandalsointeractswithpublishers,vendorsandaggregatorstoacquire,establishandmaintainaccesstoelectronicresources;
4.abilitytoworkproductivelyinateamenvironmentwithvendors,subjectlibrarians,purchasedepartmentsorotherpersonnel.
qualificationsandrequirements:
1.masterdegreeinlibraryscienceorequivalenteducationandexperiencerelevanttotheposition,advanceddegreesinrelevantfieldswillbegivenpreferenceinconsideration;
2.5+yearprofessionalexperienceworkinginacquiringandmanagingelectronicresourcesinanacademicorresearchlibrary.experiencewithanelectronicresourcesmanagementsystem(alma);
3.knowledgeofcurrentissuesinacquiring,licensing,andmanagingaccesstoelectronicresources;
4.strongabilitytonegotiateandmaintainelectronicresources’licensesandcontracts;
5.abilitytotakeauser-centeredapproachinprovidingaccesstoelectronicresources;
6.abilitytoexercisecreativityandinitiativeintroubleshootingproblemswithelectronicresourcesaccess;
