Thecountry'sfirstdiabetesbiobank,arepositoryofpopulation-basedbiologicalsamplesaimedatsupportingscientificresearch,hasbeenestablishedinChennaibytheIndianCouncilofMedicalResearch(ICMR)incollaborationwiththeMadrasDiabetesResearchFoundation(MDRF).ThebiobanksetupattheMDRF,Chennaiaimstogather,process,storeanddistributebiospecimenstoassistscientificstudieswiththepermissionoftheICMR.
