Thefivenewly-publishedbooksincludeclassicworksoftraditionalChineseintellectualschoolssuchasConfucianism,MohismandLegalism,withannotationsbyscholarsandexpertsfromtopChineseuniversities.
Morethan500scholarsacrossChinahavebeeninvolvedintheproject,participatingintasksincludingcatalogbuilding,editing,annotatinganddesigning.
TheprojectrepresentstheeffortsofChineseacademiatore-evaluateandinheritthefinetraditionalcultureofChina,saidYuanXingpei,headofthecompilingprojectcommission.
In2016,thecompilationprojectwasinitiatedtobuildacatalogofbooksthatcouldmanifestthediversityandhistoryoftraditionalChineseculture,withthefirstbatchof10books,includingclassicworksofConfucianismandTaoism,publishedin2017.
