Manyschoolscontinueusinggradestorankandsortstudents,ratherthanprovidefeedbackandnarrativesthatexplainwhatastudentknowsandisabletodo.Someschoolsgradebehaviorwiththesamemeasurementsintendedtoshowacademicgrowth,resultinginartificiallyinflatedordeflatedscoresbasedonbehavior.Why

WhenIwasayoungerteacherstrugglingwithtoomanyclasses,toomanystudents,andnotenoughtimeinthedaytomakeitallwork,thiswouldhaveseemedlikeagiftthatcouldsolvesomanyissues.
Thereareapps,programs,games,andothertoolsthathavebeendevelopedtoselltokids(orFORkids)tomakemoneywithoutanyconsiderationtotheveryrealimpactthosetoolshaveonthewell-beingofchildren.
Wealreadyknowthatoureducationalsystemisnotequitable.Bytyingschoolfinancesandfundingtopropertytaxes,schoolsintheUnitedStatesvarygreatlyinresourcesallocatedforstudents.Thisisanissuethataffectsrace,kidswholiveinpoverty,kidswithspecialneeds,andsomuchmore.
