THEUNIVERSITY
Formedin2006,Xi’anJiaotong-LiverpoolUniversity(XJTLU)isajointventureofXi’anJiaotongUniversityinChinaandtheUniversityofLiverpoolintheUK.AsanindependentSino-foreigncooperativeuniversity,XJTLUcapturestheessenceofbothofitsprestigiousparentsandisthefirstandonlyofitskindapprovedbytheMinistryofEducation.

InternationalBusinessSchoolSuzhou(IBSS)atXi'anJiaotong-LiverpoolUniversityisgrowinginsizeandinfluenceinpursuitofitsvisiontobealeadinginternationalbusinessschool.Theschoolisbasedonstrongprinciplesofinternationalism,innovation,inspirationandintegrity,whichtogetherensurethatwehaveapositiveimpactonsocietythroughourteaching,researchandbusinessengagement.Inthatpursuit,IBSSbecametheyoungestbusinessschooltobeaccreditedbytheAssociationtoAdvanceCollegiateSchoolsofBusiness(AACSB)in2016,andagain,theyoungestSchooltoreceiveEQUISaccreditationin2018.ReceivingjointaccreditationofAMBAandBGAin2020,IBSSbecametheworld’s103rdtripleaccreditedbusinessschool.
ThefivedepartmentsofIBSSareAccounting,Economics,Finance,IntelligentOperationsandMarketing,andStrategicManagementandOrganizationswithover130facultymembersandmorethan5,000studentsfromover60differentcountries.IBSSdeliversarangeofundergraduate,postgraduate,MBA,PhDandExecutiveEducationprogrammesacrossallmajorbusinessdisciplines.
TheDepartmentofIOM,whichencompassesthefieldsofOperationsManagement,InformationManagement,Marketing,andProjectManagement,issettobecomeanindependentacademicunitwiththebeginningofthe2020/21academicyear,asaresultofsplittingtheoriginalDepartmentofManagement.Atpresent,theIOMdepartmenthasastrongteamof31academicstaff,publishingintopjournals,suchasJournalofOperationsManagement(UTD),MISQuarterly(UTD),JournaloftheAcademyofMarketingScience(ABS4*),BritishJournalofManagement(ABS4),EuropeanJournalofOperationalResearch(ABS4),JournalofServiceResearch(ABS4),InternationalJournalofInformationManagement(ABDCA*),InternationalJournalofProductionEconomics(ABDCA*)andamongothers.Membersofthedepartmentteachalargenumberofundergraduatestudentsinmarketing,businessadministration,andinformationmanagementandinformationsystemprogrammesaswellaspostgraduatestudentsenrolledintheMScOperationsandSupplyChainManagement,MScProjectManagement,aswellasMScManagementortheIMBA.
ResponsibilitiesandDuties
ApplicationsareinvitedforOperationsandSupplyChainManagement,InformationManagement,Marketing,andProjectManagementatIBSSofXJTLU.XJTLUisaresearch-leduniversity.Inthiscontext,eventhoughtheworkloadoffacultyinIBSSisgenerallysharedbetweenteaching,research,andservice,early-careerfacultymembersareexpectedtospendthemajorityoftheirtimeonresearch,followedbyteaching,thenservice.Researchactivitiesincludethepublicationofresearcharticles,attendanceofinternationalconferences,andapplicationsforresearchfunding.ResearchperformanceintheSchoolisbenchmarkedoninternationallyrecognizedlistsofjournalqualitysuchastheAcademicJournalGuide(UK)–a.k.a.theABSlist–andtheABDClist(Australia).ThetargetlevelsonthoselistsareABS3/ABDC-Aorabove.
Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeexpectedtodeliverlecturesandtutorialsacrossallyearsoftheundergraduateandpostgraduateprogrammes;tosuperviseundergraduate,master’sandpotentiallydoctoraldissertations.
