中华口腔医学会—登士柏口腔医学生研究论文英文壁报比赛
亲爱的口腔医学院校师生们:
定于2013年8月17日上午在上海召开“中华口腔医学会第15次全国口腔医学学术会议
(2013年会)”期间举办“中华口腔医学会——登士柏口腔医学生研究论文英文壁报比赛”。
今年比赛投稿采取各院校推荐或学生自愿发送电子邮件方式(投稿要求见后),参加预赛。
经评审专家组网上投票后,推选出前12名优胜者参加决赛。
12名参加决赛者需赴上海参加在中华口腔医学会第15次全国口腔医学学术会议上举办的
“中华口腔医学会—登士柏口腔医学生研究论文英文壁报比赛”决赛及颁奖仪式,届时不到者
将视为自动放弃评奖资格。
前100名优秀论文获得者可获得在第15次全国口腔医学学术会议上展出壁报的资格。
决赛设一等奖1名、二等奖3名、三等奖8名。一等奖获得者将由登士柏公司支持参加一
次国际口腔医学学术会议的经费。二等奖获得者将获得1000元奖学金,三等奖获得者将获得
500元奖学金。12名决赛选手的注册费和住宿费由登士柏公司支持。
参加比赛人员须为中国大陆口腔医学院校的七年制、八年制在校学生。
投稿截止日期:2013年6月30日
提交论文摘要要求:
1.论文必须是以英文形式撰写的研究型论著。
2.文题:应简明确切反映本文的特定内容,一般不用副标题。尽可能不用代号。文题以
不超过9词为宜。
3.作者单位、署名:作者单位名称应包含省、市、区、县名,在单位名称后用圆括弧写
明邮政编码,空一格后接写作者姓名。不同单位的多作者稿应另起行写明第二或第三作者的单
位名称、邮编、姓名。
4.研究型论著摘要文本分四段式书写,即目的、方法、结果、结论。
5.关键词:3-5个关键词。
6.图表及参考文献等的处理:摘要中不用图、表、化学结构式及参考文献,应如实反映
名词委员会公布的各科名词,所用专用名词不要随意缩写,如所用名词过长,而文中又需多次
使用,则应在第一次引用时在全名后加圆括号注明缩写。
8.计量单位:按我国的法定计量单位。标点符号、数字用法等均按国家标准执行。

2013年登士柏英文壁报比赛摘要提交的补充说明:
1、提交者必须是今年口腔长学制毕业生或在校生,研究内容可以是口腔临床或口腔基础研究。
2、邮件的正文中需包含姓名,性别,手机号,院校全称,Email,英文标题。请在邮件正文中直接附上以下表格(填写时可以调整表格长度,但表格中尽量不要换行):

3、邮件的附件中需同时包含学生证扫描件和英文论文摘要,不要用压缩包形式发送。

Objectives:Oralcandidiasis,aninfectionmainlycausedbythefungusCandidaalbicans,isanincreasingprobleminAIDSandotherimmuno-compromisingdiseases.Inthelastfewyears,antimicrobialpeptideshaveshownpromiseaseffectiveantifungaltreatments.Asthesepeptidesareexpensivetoproduce,Polymedix,Inc.,hasdevelopedasetofinexpensivecompoundsthatmimicthestructureofantimicrobialpeptides.ThegoalofthisinvestigationistoexaminetheactivityofantimicrobialpeptidemimeticstodevelopnoveltherapiesagainstCandidalinfections.
Methods:Twodifferentpeptidemimeticsweretested,PMX30016andmPE.Thesecompoundsweretestedtodeterminekineticsofkilling,minimalfungicidalconcentration(MFC),viabilityofcandidainadenturebiofilmusinganXTTassay,andsynergywithchlorohexidineandItraconazole.
Results:TheMFCsofmPEandPMX30016againstC.albicansweredeterminedtobe2μg/mLand0.25μg/mL,respectively.OtherCandidalspecieshadMFC’srangingfrom0.25to1μg/mL.TherewaspotentsynergybetweenbothcompoundsandItraconazole.KineticsofkillingexperimentsshowedthatC.albicansblastoconidiawereeliminatedcompletelywithin20minutesatanmPEdoseequivalenttofivetimestheMIC.XTTstudiesshowedthatthemetabolicactivityofC.albicansdecreasedastheconcentrationofPMX30016increased.
Conclusion:Peptide-mimeticscanformthebasisforthedevelopmentofnoveltherapiesagainstcandidalinfections.

Background:Toachieveagoodhealingofthesurgicalsite,flapsshouldbeapproximatedandheldinplacebysutures.Strengthanddurabilityofsuturesarecriticaltosuccessfulhealing.Themostcommonlyusedabsorbablesuturesindentistryarechromicgutandpolyglactin(PGN).Anewerformoffastabsorbingpolyglactin(PGNFA)hasbeenintroducedinthemarketwithclaimsofsimilarstrengthandfasterabsorptioncomparedtoregularPGN.Thegoalofthisstudywastoassesstensilestrengthofthesethreesuturematerialskeptinasimulatedoralenvironmentovertimetodeterminewhichisbestforclinicalapplications.

Objectives:Hemostasissubsequenttotoothextractionconsistsofcontractionofblood
vessels,plateletaggegationandplugformation,coagulationandclotformation.The
purposeofthisresearchistocomparetheeffectofvariouscommercialhemostaticagent
ontheplateletaggregationphaseofhemostasis.
Methods:Thefollowingcommercialhemostaticagentsweregroundintosmallfibers
andsuspendedataconcentrationof1mg/ml:Collaplug,Bloodstop,Surgicel,Gelfoam,
Surgifoam,Quick-clot.Hemcondentaldressingwassolubilizedat1mg/ml.Plateletrich
plasma(PRP)waspreparedfromanticoagualtedwholeblood.Forplateletaggregation
assays,PRP(108platelets/ml,450μl)wereactivatedwitheithercollagen(1mg/ml10μl),
orcollagenmixedwithhemostaticagent(eachat1mg/ml).Theeffectofeachagenton

Results:Collaplug,HemconandQuick-clotenhancecollageninducedaggregationby

Conclusion:Althoughallofthecommercialproductsareknowntobeeffectiveaidsin

Thebondstrengthof7self-etchingand5total-etchingadhesivesystems(PeakLC/Peak
SE,PeakLC/UltraEtch,ClearFilSEBond,ClearFilS3,OptiBondAIO,XenoIV,
Prompt,AllBond3,PQ1/UltraEtch,OptiBondSolo,P&BNT,SingleBond,OneStep)
and8compositematerialcombinations(Z100,FilTechSupreme,Vit-L-Escence,
AmelogenPlus,Premise,Opalis,EsthetX,FlowIT)weretestedbymeasuringtheMPa
ofadhesivetodentinusinganInstronsheartest.Extractedhumanmolarswereprepared,
sectionedw/adiamondblade,andexposeddentinwaspolishedwith600-gritabrasive
paper.Sampleswererandomlychosenandpreparedfollowinginstructionsfromeach
company’sadhesivesystemandcompositeapplicationontoa2.39mmdiameterbutton.
Specimenswereincubatedin37degreesCwaterfor24hoursbeforeMPatesting.Seven
replicateswereanalyzedforeachcombination.Generalizedlinearmodelswereutilized
totestthesecomparisons.Byperformingtheseglobaltests,theimpactofmultiple
comparisonsisnegated.
Results:
Resultsofbondstrengthwerefoundtobehighlystatisticallysignificantinrelationto
bothcompositetypeandadhesivesystems(pAmelogenPlusandZ100compositesresultedinthehighestbondingstrength.The
adhesivePeakLCdemonstratedthehighestbondingstrengthofalladhesivestested.The
highestvaluesfoundusedthecombinationofAmelogenPlusandPeakLC.TotalEtch
systemswere,onaverage,4.2MPahigherthanotheretchingproducts(p=0.003)
Conclusion:
Theseresultssuggestthat,whilebothfactorssignificantlyaffectbondingstrength,the
adhesiveisthemostimportantdeterminant.Thisisduetothemagnitudeoftherange
betweenthehighestandlowestadhesivecomparedtothehighestandlowestcomposite.

Results:InfectionoftheectodermwithRCAS-NogginatHH20(n=12/13)resultedinnoaberrantphenotype.Similarly,controlembryosinfectedwithRCAS-APappearednormal(HH20n=28/28).InfectionwithRCAS-NoggininthemesenchymeatHH20,resultedinseveremalformationsatHH39(n=3/3).Controlembryosshowednormalphenotype(n=1).Toelucidatethemechanism(s)underlyingtheaberrantphenotype,embryoswereexaminedatearliertimepoints.FacialprimordiaappearedunaffectedatHH24(n=7/7),andshowedaminorphenotypeatHH28(n=3/4).InfectionofthemesenchymeatHH24resultedinasimilar,butlessseverephenotypeat~HH39.
Conclusions:BlockadeofBMPsignalingintheectodermdoesnotresultinabnormalphenotype.InfectionofthemesenchymeofthemaxillaryprocesswithRCAS-Nogginresultsinseverefacialdysmorphologies.
Thesemalformationslikelyoccurprimarilyasaresultofdisruptedskeletogenesis.TimingofBMPssignalingblockadeaffectstheseverityofphenotype.

Methods:48Sprague-Dawleyratswerestudied.Theyweredividedintotwogroups:thosewithexperimentally-inducedperiapicalabscessesandsham-operatedcontrols.Tocreatetheabscesses,thepulpsofthefirstandsecondmaxillarymolarteethwereexposedusinga?roundbur.24dayslater,serum,andthegreateromentumwerecollectedandimmediatelyfrozen.ThetissuesamplesweregroundinPBScontainingaproteaseinhibitor(10mgtissue/mlPBS/proteaseinhibitor).Thetotalproteincontentoftheserumandtissuesampleswasdeterminedusingabicinchoinicacidproteinassay;thetissueandserumconcentrationsofIL-6andleptinweredeterminedbyELISA.DatawereexpressedaspgIL-6orleptin/mgprotein.Theoutcomevariableswerecomparedbyfactorialanalysisofvarianceandapost-hocTukeytest.
Results:MaleswithperiapicalabscesseshadsignificantlygreaterserumIL-6andgreateromentumconcentrations(pConclusion:MaleratswithperiapicalabscesseshadagreateracutephaseresponsetoperiapicalinflammationthanfemalesandgreateraccumulationofIL-6withinthegreateromentum.Thus,maleswithtoothabscessesmaybeatgreaterriskforobesity-relatedandcardiovasculardiseasesthanfemaleswithabscessedteeth.
