1、hardworkingadj.努力的
这个应该是最常见的了，它来自词组workhard(努力工作)，加上了ing就成了形容词，意思就是“努力工作的;勤奋的”。

2、industriousadj.勤勉的;常年奔忙的
这个形容词来自名词industry，它的意思是很简单的，不就是“工业，产业”嘛。

这个时候看一下它的词根就知道了。
indu-表示in(在里面)，str-表示structure(构造，组织)，所以说呢，industry就表示在里面构建起各种东西(机器)，这个整体就是“工业”，同时有了引申义“勤勉，勤劳”。

7、applyvt.应用;涂;使专心从事

所以可不要以为apply只有“申请，应用”的意思，它还可以表示“勤奋工作，努力学习”哦。
