SchoolsystemsacrosstheU.S.havespentfederalaidmoneyfromtheCOVID-19crisisonprogramstogetstudentsbackontrack.Forexample,schoolsystemshaveintroducedmoretutoringandsummeracademicprograms.ButGoldhabersaidfewerstudentsattendedtheseprogramsthanthesystemhadplanned.

"Areportcardisreallytrickyinouropinion,becauseyou'rejustlookingatA'sandB'sandC's,"Carpentersaid.Shesaidareportcarddoesshowwhetherachild'sreadingormathleveliswhereitshouldbeandaddedthatparentsdonotunderstandthis.
